Welcome to Pungulu Party!
Inspired by Uli & Tata’s African Nursery Rhymes, Pungulu party is a family festival celebrates Africa’s cultural heritage, imagination, and togetherness through music, storytelling, hands-on activities, and shared moments of play.
🌱 Rooted in Nature and Culture. Alive with Play.
Pungulu Party is a hands-on children’s festival where culture and natural heritage is experienced. Through song, movement, storytelling, craft, and play, children encounter Kenya’s living traditions, the rhythms, materials, stories, and environments that have shaped how communities learn, celebrate, and care for the world around them.
🎶 Songs That Have Traveled Generations
Children sing, move, and play with nursery rhymes and melodies that have been passed down through communities. These songs, shared in different languages and styles, carry stories of place, animals, seasons, and everyday life, grounding music in lived culture.
📖 Stories from our Land and Community
Storytelling sessions draw from African oral traditions, where stories are tools for learning, remembering, and imagining. Children listen, respond, and take part, discovering that stories are something you enter, not just watch.
🎬 Stories on Screen, Shared Together
Screenings of Uli & Tata’s African Nursery Rhymes bring these cultural journeys to life, linking animation to real places, real languages, and real people, and reminding children that what they see on screen is connected to the world they live in.
